Long time ago, there was a band called Sirrah. You may try to Google it and you’ll find it - their page I mean - but as it has not been updated in the last six years, I’ll try to give you some more information about them now. It’s a must-listen-to stuff for all fans of alternative, heavy and very intelligent music. I wouldn’t call it in any well known terms, there’s no shelf you could put them on easily. There was a little bit of doom, death, some classical stuff there - everything mixed in a very nice proportion. Multiple vocalists, very good guitar/drums work, cool lyrics, everything I like. Before they’ve disappeared in the mist, they’ve recorded two very decent cd’s: “Acme” and “Did tomorrow come…?” and both of these recordings are very, very good and unique in many ways. First of all, even today it sounds pretty fresh, and the production is not particularly awful. It’s heavy as shit, but very melodic, and it pretty much kicks ass. Find it and buy it; it has been re-released some time ago as a double cd pack. Money well spent.
Sirrah disbanded; some musicians left it to continue work for some time under The Man Called Tea moniker. Unfortunately, due to various reasons this project has been put on hold; and Maciek, who is the voice of TMCTea told me, that there are some reactivation plans, but when? He doesn’t know yet. Anyway - I am sure we’ll hear about them again. Give a try to Sirrah, you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve just bought my “Acme” copy for £2 from my local second-hand shop. Cool :)
